A tour of the sidebar

The three tabs and the account menu, and what each one does.

Everything in Arkyvst happens in the sidebar inside Google Drive. It has three tabs plus an account menu.

Opening and closing it

Click the small dark Arkyvst tab on the right edge of any Drive window, click the Arkyvst icon in Chrome's toolbar, or press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+T. Close it with the × in the sidebar — the edge tab comes back, so Arkyvst is always one click away. If you'd rather have the sidebar open on its own whenever you select a file, turn that on in Settings → Behavior.

Tagging

Add and remove tags on the file (or files) you have selected in Drive. This tab also holds the Untagged Inbox for clearing a backlog.

Search / Curate

Find files by tag and text, combine filters, and curate the results. See Find files by tag or text.

Collections

Group related files together and open the whole group in Drive. See Group files into Collections.

The account menu

Click your avatar (top right of the sidebar) for Settings, your Subscription, Help (the built-in AI assistant and the knowledge base — see Get help from the AI assistant), and feature requests.

If you don't have permission to tag — because you're a Viewer, or because the Owner unticked it for you — the Tagging tab is hidden. You can still search and share. See Roles and permissions.

Still need a hand? Ask Ask Arkyvst in the sidebar (avatar menu → Help), or email info@arkyvst.com — a real person replies.
