Quick start: tag your first file

From install to your first searchable tag in under a minute.

  1. In Google Drive, click the dark Arkyvst tab on the right edge of the window to open the sidebar.
  2. Click a file to select it. The sidebar's Tagging tab shows that file.
  3. Type a tag in the box (for example brand-assets) and press Enter — or click one of your saved-tag chips.
  4. That's it. The tag is saved instantly.
  5. Open the Search / Curate tab, type or click the same tag, and your file appears.

Tags are yours to invent — there's no fixed vocabulary. Most people use a handful of consistent tags (a client name, a status like final or wip, a media type) and build from there.

Save the tags you reuse as chips so they're one click next time — see Saved tags and categories. Got a pile of existing files? The Untagged Inbox is the fast way to work through them.

Still need a hand? Ask Ask Arkyvst in the sidebar (avatar menu → Help), or email info@arkyvst.com — a real person replies.
