Tag many files at once
Select multiple files and apply shared tags in a single action.
When you select more than one file in Drive, the Tagging tab switches to bulk mode. Any tag you add is applied to every selected file at once, and any tag you remove is taken off all of them.
- Select several files in Drive (Shift-click or Ctrl/Cmd-click).
- In the Tagging tab, add or remove tags. They apply across the whole selection.
Bulk changes are applied together, so a large batch either all goes through or reports what didn't — you won't end up with a half-tagged selection from a hiccup.
For clearing a whole backlog of untagged files, the Untagged Inbox is purpose-built — it gathers untagged files as thumbnails so you can batch through them without opening each one.
