What Arkyvst can and can't see
Arkyvst never reads your file contents — only metadata and the tags you add.
Arkyvst is designed to hold as little as possible while still making your files findable.
What it never does
- It never reads the contents of your files — not your documents, spreadsheets, slides, images, or videos.
What it works with
- File metadata — things like the file name, type, and thumbnail — so it can show and search your files.
- The tags you create, so you can find files by them across your devices and (on Team plans) your workspace.
Access to your workspace's data is scoped so that only you — and, on Team plans, the teammates you invite — can read it.
For the authoritative, detailed breakdown of exactly what is collected, where it's stored, and how long it's kept, see the Privacy Policy. If anything there is unclear, email info@arkyvst.com.
Still need a hand? Ask Ask Arkyvst in the sidebar (avatar menu → Help), or email info@arkyvst.com — a real person replies.
